officially our new home

We closed today!!!!

We feel so grown up and so excited for the memories to be made in this home!

Of course I am mourning the loss of what we currently consider the norm. I will miss seeing my brother and his cute girlfriend Colbi!!! I have so enjoyed seeing them so much this past year!!!

Tyler's step dad Corey was our mortgage broker with Walker Mortgage Insurance and he was amazing!!! And no not because he is Tyler's step dad but because he is truly good at what he does! He was very informative every step of the way and we had NO HICCUPS. None. Not a single bump in the road and we are so thankful!!! 

Brandon Calton was our realtor and I cannot recommend him enough. I know everyone recommends their realtor but really he is THE REASON we got our home. For more information on that read my previous post =) He also happens to be our good high school friend’s older brother so that's how we heard about him. And just in case you think every realtor is a good one, that is not the case. We had a small experience with another realtor company before we called Brandon and it wasn't horrific or anything just not great. A few red flags and we just didn’t feel good about it. You need a realtor with A LOT of experience!!! Funny thing is we were complaining a bit about the realtor we had been using to another friend and he said: "why aren't you guys using Tom's older brother Brandon? He's the best and was our realtor." Thank to Spencer for the recommendation!!!

We got to meet the sellers and they told us they really liked Brandon on the phone and his communication skills and it was one of of the reasons they chose us over the 5 other offers!!!!

It was pretty funny seeing my Grandpa's name Paul Halliday as our Trustee in case of foreclosure. He owns his own law firm specializing in foreclosures, bankruptcy, replevin((a procedure whereby seized goods may be restored to their owner pending the outcome of an action to determine the rights of the parties concerned)), eviction and REO closings.  His firm does almost all of the foreclosures in Salt Lake and Utah valley. A lot of my cousins, aunts and one Uncle work there as lawyers or secretaries and such. Nearly all my cousins have at one time worked in the office. The firm is called Halliday, Watkins & Mann. The Mann part is my cousin who within the last 7 years got added on as a partner! Pretty cool I think that my grandpa has built a family empire! =)

My dad is building is a railing to make it safe!

We are stoked and stressed and overwhelmed but mostly so excited!!!! I'm overwhelmed at all there is to do. We are going to paint the walls and cabinets before we move in.
