Under contract on our first home!

Say hello to the Andersen's first home!♡
4 beds 3 baths
Located in the middle of a cul-de-sac which is Tyler's favorite place for a house to be.
We are so lucky to have gotten this beauty with the market as competitive as it is. It is a sellers market right now meaning there are more buyers than homes up for sale. As many of you know, my brother owns our current home as a second house and asked us if we wanted to live in it with him part time during the week so he can go to work easily from it right down the street. On weekends he stays at his other home in white City. So we have been leisurely looking by ourselves for months now but nothing felt right. Then we got serious about it but still nothing felt right. We didn't realize that getting a good realtor can be a game changer! Brandon Calton is the reason we got this home. In just one day, he found better listings for us than we were able to find in one month on our own! He has been doing this a long time so it just comes naturally to him and he got us in a home within a week of us calling him. He found the house right when it came on the market Thursday morning and immediately called the realtor(who is also the seller of the home) but she told him no showings because the carpets had just been cleaned. Well Brandon then told her about us and worked his magic so that we could see it and be the first people to tour the house! (We just had to be barefoot while walking through:) We put an offer on it immediately for over asking price (because that's what you have to do with this market) and crossed our fingers. The next morning Brandon informed us that they had gotten SIX offers after us that night. SIX!!! And ours wasn't the highest offer :( We were pretty bummed when we got that news. But Brandon told the owners about how we were a good young family, it was our first house so we weren't contingent on our house selling etc. And they liked all that plus the fact that we were the first offer so 10 mins after we got depressing news we got news that they asked us to match the highest offer and they would cover closing costs. We accepted right away! It was only 2k higher than our original bid. Friday was a roller coaster of emotions!!! I was with Tyler's mom when ingot the happy news so it was nice to have someone to jump up and down in excitement with :) I can't stop thinking about all the posibilities of this house and how wonderful it is going to be for our family. And wait till you see the yard!! Its Tyler's favorite part. He grew up with big yards. I'm going to have to find my green thumb!!!!! The sellers later told Brandon that it was really important to them that a good young family moved in because they love the neighborhood and neighbors so much. So that makes us happy to hear that. This morning Brandon was awesome enough to meet us at 10 to let us come back with our family to show off the house. It was so fun!
We still wanted to be close to family and Halli's preschool and neighborhood friends. We are so excited and feeling so blessed. Except that I'm more than a little sad to be saying goodbye to the ward and neighborhood we have been in for the last year. I kept hoping something would pop up in this ward but we can't wait forever! I'm happy my brother and his girlfriend Colbi will be in this house we've grown to love and that we can come back to visit!
If all goes well with the inspection and the loan, we will close next month possibly sooner than March 31st!
I will show some pics but save some too for the after :)
Sad to say goodbye to our roomies this past year!
The cutest thing was when we were in the basement Halli turned to Od and Colbi and said "and this is where you guys will sleep!"
This yard is Tyler's dream yard!!!
